• Description of the Assignment The purpose of this assignment is to develop the engineering design, technical specifications, and Bill of Quantities for renewable energy and smart infrastructure systems to be deployed at King Mswati III International Airport under the Japanese GX-DX pilot project. The assignment will ensure that renewable energy technologies are designed to support energy independence of critical airport functions, with particular emphasis on solar-powered airside lighting systems and energy-efficient cargo infrastructure using advanced renewable energy technologies, including Japanese GX-DX solutions or equivalent systems. All outputs and specifications shall be developed in a non-restrictive manner to support open and competitive procurement in accordance with UNDP rules.Specific objectives include:1. Conduct a technical assessment of the airport-s current energy systems, including runway lighting, perimeter security lighting, and cargo warehouse electricity demand, in order to determine appropriate renewable energy solutions.2.
